For Dennis and Sam actually, for the new list now incorporates all the new classes AND the ones specially made for the new Tunnel commissioned to operate by the NYC Loco Works, plus the engines from the WRR now based on and operated by the MRTC.

All Standard gauge engines and BG engines are now approved for travel across the now dual-gauged "New York Turn", except the standard-gauge Symphony class 4-2-4T because of insufficient traction in high water.

You once said you have cape gauge locomotives on the MRTC. Could you shed some light on those?

they are refurbish jobs we did for South Africa

The Red Devil must be top priority. The KNGRR is taking pride in helping restore some B class DHR 0-4-0ST tank engines, along with we are making supplementary tenders to go with them. The Isle of Man Railway is also having us build some new coach stock for them. The EBT is our biggest customer for which we are building a dinning car currently.
Reply
:iconsteamby51:
oh yes. We are trying to get our hands on Red Devil, but she as you know is buried away beneath Cape Town Station and considered an embarrasment to the current African Railways systems such as Transnet.

Personally I would not give the DHR locomotives tenders. On the 7% grades and insane curves, the machines must be self-contained and compact. Carrying their own fuel means more weight on their driving wheels and more adhesion to get a grip with.

Do you know of the Darjeeling C class pacifics?

An embarrassment? By Joe! She's the most ingenious advancement of the most poetic and beloved machine in history!

We are giving the B class engines tenders so they have fuel and water in addition to their bunker and tank provisions. Since the railway uses diesel more often, the steam refueling stations are probably not as active as they used to be.

The C class pacific engines are quite interesting for a gauge of two feet.

:iconsteamby51:
yes sir, the only ALL outside framed pacifics in the world and the smallest 4-6-2 wheel arrangement locomotives in the world. Imagine THOSE climbing up the mountain in their heyday. I also love how both that were manufactured were preserved.

The class A 0-4-0ST, Baby Sivok, is also in steam these days as well.

Speaking of wheel arrangements, I think a seven foot gauge 4-6-2T would go great on the MRTC.
Reply
:iconsteamby51:
well you see, I would normally agree, however we already have the Orion class 4-4-4T's. 4-4-4T's are very good at being double directional, as well as compact and VERY fast, like the Raven H1's of the LNER were. Sadly, many of these engines were not liked due to their comparative lack of adhesive weight and were turned INTO 4-6-2T's, such as how the H1's were turned into A8's.

Ill give it thought. XD

However, what I DO plan on doing is giving a broad gauge class of Du Bosquet type, such as [link]

What do your Broad Gauge Beauty 2-6-2 and Orion 4-4-4T locomotives look like? They sound like very interesting engine types, never before used for a Brunel Gauge railway. Are they British in appearance, like your Connecticut Class 4-4-2?
Reply
:iconsteamby51:
the Orion class 4-4-4T is a tank locomotive version of the connecticut class, and the 2-6-2's are very odd and hard to describe, id have to illustrate one
